Regulations

Please read our regulations carefully!

1. Initial Considerations

1.1. TAM Virtual Airlines is a non-profit entity dedicated to entertainment by simulating the operations of former companies such as TAM, Trip, SETE, Passaredo, and Pantanal, in a VIRTUAL SIMULATED environment.

1.2. TAM Virtual Airlines does not discriminate and does not tolerate discrimination based on race, color, religion (creed), gender, age, nationality (ancestry), disability, marital status, or sexual orientation, in any of its activities or operations. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

1.3. As a member of TAM Virtual Airlines, the pilot cannot be part of another virtual airline with the same name. In case of non-compliance with this rule, the pilot will have their access blocked and will be notified by e-mail, having 7 (seven) days to present their defense; otherwise, the pilot's registration will be deleted.

1.4. To fly with TAM Virtual Airlines, it is mandatory for the pilot to use simulation platforms (FSX, P3D, X-PLANE, or MSFS 2020) with aircraft/addons that have basic simulation capabilities and meet the standards required by IVAO and VATSIM.

2. Registration and Admission

2.1. To register with TAM Virtual Airlines, the pilot must:

  1. Be at least 18 years old;

  2. Have no suspension record in the last 12 (Twelve) months on IVAO or VATSIM;

  3. Not be registered in a homonymous virtual airline.

2.2. After joining, it is the pilot's duty to access the Discord server, read all documentation provided by TAM Virtual Airlines, and introduce themselves in the Whatsapp group.

2.3. After registration, the pilot will receive an e-mail with initial instructions and will have 7 (seven) days to make their first flight; otherwise, the system will automatically delete the account without the right to recover the data.

3. Flight Operations

3.1. The language used in the system is Portuguese, however, English is part of the aviation world, and every pilot must have at least reading proficiency.

3.2. Flight reports (PIREP) are a set of information generated during the flight. This report must be sent to the system at the end of each flight.

3.3. The pilot must send flight reports only through VABASE or any other tool that TAM Virtual Airlines may provide.

3.4. Flights that display parameters outside the standard must be justified through comments in the log (VABASE provides a field to add these comments). Adding a comment to the log does not guarantee the flight's approval, especially concerning the landing VS, which cannot exceed -500 fpm. In cases like this (landing VS higher than determined), the pilot should not send the PIREP, and we encourage them to redo the flight. Complete parameters for TAM Virtual Airlines are available in our NOTAMS room.

3.5. The pilot may request a re-evaluation of a flight report, provided they give reasons for it. The re-evaluation does not guarantee the acceptance of the flight by the evaluator.

3.6. Only flight reports with an "accepted" status are considered for hour accumulation, as well as flight counts and other information needed by the system.

3.7. A pilot who reaches 3 (three) rejected flights within 6 (six) months will be sent for instruction. During the instruction period, the pilot cannot perform official flights for TAM Virtual Airlines. A pilot who repeats the failures described here may have their registration deleted.

3.8. It is allowed to make offline flights, i.e., outside the simulation networks.

3.9. It is prohibited to fly on two networks at the same time, under penalty of permanent registration deletion.

3.10. All procedures performed on flights will be continuously monitored.

3.11. Flight logs that exceed the operational parameters defined by TAM Virtual Airlines are subject to punishment and log rejection as below.

  • Landing rate above -500FPM = Flight rejected
  • Crash detected = Flight rejected
  • Use of time acceleration rate above 1X = Flight rejected
  • Incorrect livery for aircraft that have a livery available = warning and possible flight rejection in case of recurrence. For aircraft without available livery, please use a white one.
  • Landing lights on above FL100 = Reduction in flight score.
  • Aircraft overspeed = Reduction in flight score
  • Slew detected = Flight rejected
  • Taxi overspeed = Reduction in flight score
  • Speed greater than 250kt below FL100 = Reduction in flight score
  • Beacon off with engines running = Reduction in flight score
  • Aircraft stall = Reduction in flight score

The points obtained in the flight, along with flight hours, make up the pilot's profile for promotion, i.e., in addition to a certain number of hours flown, we also need to reach a certain number of points to receive the promotion.

3.12. During the flight, the pilot must be connected to the Internet. Disconnections are tolerated for up to 5 minutes. After that, VAbase may have problems sending flight information to TAM Virtual Airlines, causing cancellation and reservation of the aircraft.

3.13. A document containing the operational parameters of TAM Virtual Airlines will be available for consultation on our NOTAMS page.

3.14. All online flights must use the following official company REMARK.

3.14.1 Charter flights: RMK\OPR-SETE Virtual Linhas Aéreas - Charter.

3.14.2 Scheduled flights: RMK\OPR-TAM Virtual Airlines.

3.15 Callsign to be used in operations

  • On flights operated by TAM Virtual Airlines (including TAM Cargo and TAM Express), the pilot must use the callsign TAM followed by the flight number, and ICAO code TAM.
  • On flights operated by SETE, the pilot must use the callsign SETE followed by the flight number, and ICAO code SLX.
  • On flights operated by TRIP, the pilot must use the callsign TRIP followed by the flight number, and ICAO code TIB.
  • On flights operated by BRcentral, the pilot must use the callsign Central followed by the flight number, and ICAO code BRC.
  • On flights operated by Pantanal, the pilot must use the callsign Pantanal followed by the flight number, and ICAO code PTN.
  • On flights operated by Passaredo, the pilot must use the callsign Passaredo followed by the flight number, and ICAO code PTB.

4. Career

4.1. After being admitted to TAM Virtual Airlines, pilots will begin their careers with the rank of Trainee Pilot.

4.2. Career Plan:

  • Trainee Pilot (0 - 20 flight hours) - Only single and twin-engine piston aircraft. (Cessna 172,182,210, 310, 414, Piper Navajo, Piper Seneca and Beechcraft Baron, Beechcraft Bonanza).
  • Pilot (20 - 100 flight hours) - Aircraft from the previous rank and single and twin-engine turboprop or turboshaft aircraft on domestic scheduled and international charter routes (PA31T, C208, PC12, TMB8, MU2, BE20, BE9T, B190, E110, E120, L410 AT76, F50, SF34).
  • Captain (100 - 400 flight hours) - Aircraft available in the previous rank and twin-engine jet aircraft on domestic scheduled and international charter routes.

  • Senior Captain (400 - 600 flight hours) - All aircraft available in the fleet, on continental scheduled routes (South America) and international charter.

  • International Captain (600 - 3000 flight hours) - All aircraft available in the fleet, on transcontinental scheduled routes (between continents) and international charter.

  • Instructor Captain - Rank offered to colleagues who have time to teach courses at the company. The rank can also be offered to Staff members and to those who help us financially maintain the company.

  • (Note 1) The aircraft described above are just examples and may not necessarily be part of the fleet.

(Note 2) TAM Virtual Airlines guarantees to keep in its fleet only the real aircraft operated by it and its partners for scheduled service flights; in the charter flight service, we have the freedom to add or remove aircraft that our pilots request.

(Note 3) TAM Virtual Airlines reserves the right to include or exclude, at its discretion, any aircraft from the fleet without prior notice or consent.

4.3. Pilots approved and admitted by TAM Virtual Airlines may transfer flight hours from the following sources:

  • Authorized sources for transfer
    • Virtual airlines with a public pilot profile
    • Duly registered real-life flight hours
    • Simulation networks (Vatsim and Ivao)

The following system is adopted for calculating hours:

  • For every two hours transferred from a VA, the pilot will receive one hour at TAM Virtual Airlines up to a limit of 150 hours
  • For every hour transferred from real life, the pilot will receive one hour at TAM Virtual Airlines up to a limit of 200 hours
  • For every two hours transferred from a simulation network, the pilot will receive one hour at TAM Virtual Airlines up to a limit of 200 hours; in this case, the pilot can sum the hours registered on Ivao and Vatsim

4.4. All pilots, including STAFF, will be classified by ranks as provided in the career plan above.

5. Code of Conduct and Permanence

5.1. TAM Virtual Airlines reserves the right to refuse to offer these services to anyone, for any reason, and at any time.

5.2. Registration with TAM Virtual Airlines is for personal and non-transferable use. In case of misuse, the pilot will be excluded without the possibility of return.

5.3. It is the obligation of every pilot to perform at least 4 (four) flights per month. If the pilot has not reported a flight for more than 60 (sixty) days, they will receive an inactivity warning with 7 (seven) days to communicate the reason and perform the flight. If there is no communication, the pilot will receive another e-mail notifying them of the account suspension. The pilot may request account reactivation and will have 7 (seven) days to perform the reactivation flight; otherwise, their account will be permanently deleted from our database.

5.4. Requests for temporary absence are allowed as long as they do not exceed 90 (ninety) days. Requests must be made via e-mail to a STAFF member.

5.5. During the temporary absence period, it will not be possible to access the CREWCENTER.

5.7. No act of verbal aggression will be tolerated against TAM Virtual Airlines, its members, or STAFF. The offending pilot will have their account permanently deleted without the right to return. The TAM Virtual Airlines pilot must always act in accordance with the company's rules and the rules of the online networks, acting with cordiality and respect.

5.8. It is prohibited to publish adult, political, religious, or piracy content on TAM Virtual Airlines' communication channels (e-mail, Facebook, Telegram, IntraMail, and Discord). Actions of this nature will be punished with a warning and/or permanent exclusion of the pilot.

5.9. The TAM Virtual Airlines pilot agrees not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell any part of the services or access the services offered by TAM Virtual Airlines without the express authorization of a STAFF member.

5.10. TAM Virtual Airlines does not discriminate and does not tolerate discrimination based on race, color, religion (creed), gender, age, nationality (ancestry), disability, marital status, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or operations. 6. Final Considerations

6.1. In case of violation of these regulations, the pilot will be excluded from TAM Virtual Airlines.

6.2. The pilot understands and accepts that TAM Virtual Airlines uses services provided by third parties to provide the necessary infrastructure for its operation, and that instabilities or discontinuations of these services may cause technical problems in the operation of TAM Virtual.

6.3. All services are offered free of charge. The maintenance of TAM Virtual Airlines is done through the voluntary collaboration of its members and STAFF.

6.4. The rules may be changed at any time at the sole discretion of TAM Virtual Airlines. The pilot is responsible for periodically checking the rules and their updates.
